Nursing home wrongful death An elderly woman acquired a serious infection when the facility staff failed to change her diaper. Settlement: $275,000. August 2009. Georgia.

Nursing home wrongful death A 78 year-old female died when staff failed to properly manage her feeding tube and took too long to call for emergency medical help. Settlement: $750,000. April 2009. Tennessee.

Nursing home wrongful death A 63 year-old male nursing home resident asphyxiated due, in part, to the nursing home being understaffed. Settlement: $275,000. March 2009. Georgia.

Nursing home abuse and neglect Nursing facility attempted to bar our access to witnesses of alleged abuse and neglect in their facility. Went to court and obtained Temporary Restraining Order authorizing our interviews with witnesses who had volunteered their helpful testimony. The injured resident survived and his family reports that he has been receiving better care following our intervention. February 2009. Georgia.
